Friends,

This past weekend, we elected Andrew Scheer as our new leader. Andrew is a husband and father of five children. I was proud to support Andrew in his bid to be leader, and I am confident that he will put forward policies that address the concerns of Markham-Unionville families.

I was angered to hear about the carnage in Great Britain and Egypt killing innocent children and practicing Christians. We must rid the world of those who target innocent people.

A couple of weeks ago, I met with my colleagues to discuss the ongoing drug crisis in our cities. In Edmonton, we saw that local residents were outraged as city officials unilaterally decided to consider injection sites with limited consultations. We must ensure that this approach doesn’t come to our city.

I had the chance to welcome the warm weather by speaking to constituents at their doors regarding my work. I was joined by many volunteers as we visited 3000 homes.

I was pleased to participate in the Unionville Villagers’ Association neighbourhood clean-up alongside community volunteers.
