Bob Saroya was elected to House of Commons on October 19th, 2015 to represent the riding of Markham-Unionville. He currently serves as the Associate Shadow Minister for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, and is a member on the Standing Joint Committee of the Library of Parliament. Mr. Saroya is the Vice-President of the Canada-India Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Mr. Saroya was born in India, and immigrated to Canada over 40 years ago. After arriving in Canada with just $7 in his pocket, he became a successful entrepreneur and served as a corporate director for a multi-billion dollar Canadian company.

His passion for public service led him to volunteer for several local charities in York Region. In his spare time, he meets with and mentors new immigrants.

Mr. Saroya is married to the love of his life, Roopa and together they have three children: Rohin, Tarun and Shalin.

Mr. Saroya prides himself as being a constituent-focused representative, and personally returns many calls and e-mails on a regular basis.
