Fall Newsletter

Dear Friends,

I am excited to be writing to you to keep you informed of the busy month that was October and November, that is shaping up to be just as action-packed.

I hope that you have had a great Fall season so far and that we are all able to enjoy the nice crisp Autumn weather for a while longer before Winter descends upon us. Fall is a busy season and I know that you were likely just as busy as I was!

October started off for me with the Leader of the Conservative Party, Andrew Scheer, asking me to accompany him on his official trip to India. The trip was a huge success and was very business focused. The Leader and I had the opportunity to meet with the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and some of his Cabinet Ministers, as we discussed the importance of the ongoing relationship and dialogue between India and Canada.

While in Ottawa, over the month of October I had the privilege of speaking in the House of Commons and asking the Liberals why they are not effectively addressing the opioid drug crisis. I was also able to speak about protecting children and animals from predators. And, I took part in a press conference with some of my colleagues and the United Sikhs to bring attention to the persecuted religious minorities in Afghanistan.

October was also a busy month with events in the Markham-Unionville riding. I make it a point to see as many of you as I possibly can during my weekends and constituency weeks. Just to highlight a few that I had the pleasure of attending: the Canada Qinghai Chamber of Commerce 2nd Entrepreneurs Forum, the 2018 East MEET West Art Exhibition, the Canada-China Real Estate & Home Expo, the Battle of Hong Kong Ceremony and Remembrance and numerous Diwali events, both in Markham-Unionville and the GTA and also on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
